Objective(s): To discuss with members of the community about their perceptions of wildlife management; to document the knowledge that members feel management organizations should have in order to effectively manage wildlife populations (especially caribou).

Project Description: This research will examine the perceptions of Arviat people as they relate to the management of caribou in the NWT. The researcher will hold informal and conversational interviews with groups of interested members of the community in order to document the effectiveness of caribou management in its present form. Information will also be collected on the community's perceptions of the effectiveness of the Beverly and Qamanirjuaq Caribou Management Board.
