Objective(s): To provide a history of a previously unstudied coastline along eastern Ellesmere Island; to contribute to the regional database on postglacial emergence for the high arctic; to map surficial glacial deposits, survey raised marine shorelines, collect samples for radiocarbon dating and amino acid analyses, and investigate the nature of older glaciations.

Project Description: The purpose of this research is to determine the amount of ice coverage during the last glaciation by investigating the landforms that occur today. I will also record the change in sea-level and the rise in the land as the glaciers receded. Evidence for the movement of glaciers onto eastern Ellesmere Island from Greenland will be collected. The data collected in this field season will contribute to my Master's thesis research.
