Objectif(s): to monitor decomposition of detritus of tree species at various sites across Canada.

Description du projet: Forestry researchers tend to study in detail their local forests yet for major issues such as global warming, it is necessary to conduct research over larger areas to understand impacts on Canadian forests and industry. This study attempts to better describe rates of decomposition and nutrient mineralization across Canadian forests in order to understand how forests are supplied with nutrients for growth in different ecoregions.
