Objective(s): To document modern and recent geologic processes associated with glaciers on southwestern Bylot Island; to reconstruct the record of past glacial and climatic fluctuations in order to predict future changes; as part of an interdisciplinary project (BIG ICE), to model natural processes in the north Baffin-Bylot region which will result in a better understanding of the Arctic's fragile physical environment;

Project Description: The research will involve the study of the interplay (past and present) between glaciers, permafrost, meltwater and seawater on the southwestern side of the Bylot Island ice cap.
