Objective(s): To examine geographical patterns of enzyme polymorphism in a cosmopol organism in the North Atlantic using the intertidal barnacle Semibalanus balanoides as a model;

Project Description: The Researcher will collect a few hundred barnacles from the shores near Iqaluit and examine their genetic background. The objective of the study is to test the hypothesis that the Greenland and Labrador and Gulf of St. Lawrence populations could be genetically close and very distinct from the North American populations south of Cabot Strait.
