Objective(s): To study the role of arts and crafts in tourism and economic development, specifically, production, marketing and consumption.

Project Description: The Researcher will examine the production, marketing and consumption of Northern arts and crafts. Artisans and craftsmakers in Yellowknife, Iqaluit and Pangnirtung will be consulted. Markets for Northern arts and crafts (co-operatives, stores, art galleries) will be surveyed. Tourists in the North and other purchasers in the South will also be interviewed.
