Objective(s): To evaluate RADAR, SPOT and Landsat TM data to classify vegetation types of the study area; to classify and map wildlife habitat types within the study area;

Project Description: The project will evaluate airborne RADAR data as well as Landsat TM and SPOT satellite data to distinguish vegetation cover types of the tundra near Baker Lake. Detailed vegetation surveys will be carried out in the field. The data will be used to classify vegetation cover types and in accuracy assessment. Wildlife habitat types will be based on the resultant classification and produced as mapped products.
