Objective(s): To collect sediments from Truelove Lowland, to be analysed for insect fossils; to collect modern beetles from study locations to increase knowledge of arctic beetle ecology and distribution;
Project Description: The Researchers will collect sediment samples. Insect fossils will be extracted and analysed. The insect communities recovered will provide an indication of the climatic conditions in the area at the time the sediments were deposited. The age of the sediments will be determined with radiocarbon or other dating methods.
