Objective(s): To isolate, purify and analyze/store DNA; to determine the frequency of specific alleles (repetitive sequence, non-coding DNA); to publish the results;

Project Description: DNA (hereditary material) will be isolated from blood cells normally thrown away after plasma tests at Stanton Yellowknife Hospital. The names will be unknown. Results will be added to an existing data bank which includes DNA information on Inuit, Caucasian, Oriental and other cultural groups. This information can be used to study events such as the migration of Inuit or to compare the evolution of different populations.
