Objective(s): 1) To document how Inuit learned what they needed to know in order to live in the High Arctic after relocation from Arctic Quebec in 1953 and 1956; 2) To document the culture of Arctic Science; how it is conducted and the beliefs, attitudes and practices expressed in three institutions playing key roles in Arctic science: The Geological Survey of Canada, the Polar Continental Shelf Project and the Canadian Wildlife Service
Project Description: The Researcher will compare Arctic Science and Inuit Knowledge by conducting an ethnography of Arctic science and a study of how Inuit constructed knowledge when relocated to the High Arctic from Arctic Quebec.
