Objective(s): To measure the horizontal deformation of sea ice on scales of 10 to 100 km in the southern Beaufort Sea; to map the underside of ridged sea ice in the southern Beaufort Sea;
Project Description: The Researcher and his team will map and measure sea ice in the southern Beaufort Sea. They will use nine ARGOS drift buoys and will operate a small remote submersible equipped with upward looking sonar.
