Objective(s): It is known that skeletal information can be acquired that may help a researcher discover a persons possible height, sex and body weight. This research project will examine whether this type of information can also help discover what specific ethnic group the person belonged to. Through the comparison of different classes of physique it is hoped that certain aspects will be apparent which will be specific to that ethnic group. Participation of Inuit in this research will allow the researcher to determine the specific physical attributes of this ethnic group thus allowing for the comparison to other ethnic groups.
Project Description: This researcher will measure the stature, sitting height, weight and various long bones of Inuit volunteers. A metal tape measurer and anthropological calipers will be used during this approximate 15 minute process.
