Objective(s): To understand the physical processes responsible for coastal erosion and to predict the geological hazards in the coastal zone;
Project Description: The team will gather information on coastal erosion rates, geotechnical properties of coastal sediments and on the geological processes occurring along this permafrost coast. Surveys will include lithology description, ice content estimates and sediment sampling of the cliff face. Beach profiles at sites along the Yukon coast and on the Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula will also be surveyed.
