Objective(s): To continue to investigate the use of orbiting satellites to detect and monitor environmental responses to climate warming and human-induced disturbances to terrain surfaces in the Western Canadian Arctic.

Project Description: The Researcher will examine what distinguishes arctic surfaces spatially and spectrally and which surfaces can be detected and identified by sensors on orbiting satellites, and will test the hypothesis that orbiting satellites can be used to detect and monitor thaw slumps, coastal erosion and other physical and biological manifestations of environmental change in the arctic.
