Objective(s): To examine activity and agression levels (duration and frequency), predation risk, growth patterns and population densities of the (Crustacea: Notostraca); to compare populations in Igloolik with studies in southern and northern Manitoba;
Project Description: "Tadpole shrimp" (Notostraca) occur in ponds at all latitudes in Canada. Activity and behavior show differences between the sexes. Mating behaviour shows differences between the two latitudes already tested. Studies in southern and northern Manitoba (Portage la Prairie; Churchill) will be compared with those in the eastern Northwest Territories (Igloolik).
