Objective(s): To test some very standard agriculture seeds that have been developed at Beaverlodge Alberta to determine whether they grow in Iqaluit and Lake Harbour on existing disturbed ground sites in these towns; to establish a classic scientific transplant garden in which plants from the northern and western arctic are ground beside close relatives from eastern Canada to determine whether everything comes to look alike with time or whether small differences that are observed in the field have a genetic base and remain when plants are grown in the same climate.

Project Description: The Researcher will test some very standard agriculture seeds that have been developed in Alberta to determine whether they will grow in test plots in Iqaluit and Lake Harbour. She will also identify areas across the NWT which may be suitable as long term climatic change monitoring sites.
