Objective(s): To map and survey glacial abrasion limits in the Pangnirtung Pass and Pangnirtung Fiord areas to determine the direction and vertical extent of ice flow; to describe soil profiles and collect soil samples; to analyze soil samples; to retrieve cores of lacustrine sediments to provide minimum limiting radiocarbon ages for the glacial abrasion limits and the Duval moraines; to reconstruct late Wisconsin ice profiles in the area based on relative and numerical age data to determine ice volumes and the relationship with grounded ice on the floor of Cumberland Sound;

Project Description: The Researcher and his team will map and survey glacial abrasion limits, collect, describe and analyze soil samples from the Pangnirtung Pass and Pangnirtung Fiord areas to determine the direction and vertical extent of ice flow.
