Objective(s): To sample driftwood in the Mackenzie Delta area (from four sites) 1. the main Mackenzie upstream from the Arctic Red River junction, 2. from the Arctic Red River, 3. from Peel River, and 4. the coast near Tuktoyaktuk;
Project Description: The Researcher will sample about 100-200 driftwood logs using a chain-saw to cut off a 1-2 cm plate about 0.5 m inside the end of each log. The material will be shipped to Lund University laboratory for examination.
