Objectif(s): to begin background discussions with the GNWT Departments of Renewable Resources and Economic Development and Tourism so as to define a mechanism for developing forest management plans for Northern communities based on the principles of self-determination, sustainable development, and integrated resource management; to begin to plan to involve a northern community in the development of a model plan for management of the communities forest-based resources.
Description du projet: Mr. James Ramsay began preliminary discussions with GNWT Departments of Renewable Resources and Economic Development and Tourism regarding community economic diversification and local management of renewable resources. The resarech is intended to define a mechanism for developing forest management plans based on principles of self-determination, sustainable development and integrated resource management.
