Objectif(s): to study the development of hypertension during pregnancy and to evaluate the incidence and any changes in hypertension during pregnancy, to study Inuit deliveries from various Keewatin communities in order to assess the relationship between diet and hypertension through a questionnaire coupled with analysis of plasma and umbilical cord vessel lipids.

Description du projet: Dr. Jon Gerrard proposes to study the potential relationship between blood pressure and diet during pregnancy among the Inuit, a dietary questionnaire will be completed by the mother and small amount of blood will be obtained. The research team will travel to various Keewatin communities.
