Objectif(s): To capture and mark walruses; to observe behaviour of marked walruses; to describe reproductive ecology of Atlantic walrus overwintering in the Central High Arctic; to tape record underwater vocalizations of marine mammals; to evaluate the biological importance of polynyas to the overwintering populations of marine mammals; to study distribution of overwintering populations of seals in relation to a variety of environmental factors
