Objectif(s): To collect data from the soil moisture and temperature sensors installed during the expedition in 2022.

Description du projet: This licence has been issued for the scientific research application No. 5916. The objectives for this expedition are to collect data from the soil moisture and temperature sensors that were installed during the expedition in 2022 and to install additional sensors near the existing ones. Additionally, the plan is to maintain and upgrade existing, long-term observations at the Trail Valley Creek site. 1) Vegetation description (photo, height) including the thickness of the organic layer 2) Thaw depth measurement with a metal probe 3) Installation of maximum 20 small soil moisture and temperature sensors 4) Volumetric water content measurements with a handheld instrument 5) Installation of snow temperature sensors and soil moisture sensors at one already existing station All measurements will be performed in a way that minimizes the impact on the environment, "leave no trace", as it is also important for us that our measurements come from undisturbed areas. - The results will be freely available and free of charge for everybody. - The community will be informed via meetings about projects and results. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from: August 01 - September 30, 2024
