Objectif(s): To map the regional structural geometry outside of the Howard's Pass district to integrate the timing and geometry of deformation into the interpretation at Howard's Pass and how Cretaceous deformation as affected the Zn-Pb ore bodies and the surrounding region.

Description du projet: This licence has been issued for the scientific research application No.4979. The goal of this project is to map the regional structural geometry outside of the Howard's Pass district to integrate the timing and geometry of deformation into the interpretation at Howard's Pass and how Cretaceous deformation as affected the Zn-Pb ore bodies and the surrounding region. The March Fault structure was previously looked at in a study. This is a continuation of that work. The research is primarily field-based involving detailed geological mapping by foot along a series of traverses in the designated field area. The research team will use rock hammers to collect small rock samples for analysis at University of British Columbia. The team plan to have 3 fly-camps each around one week long from which we will base each of the structural mapping around. The team will have one day of walking between camps. Project results wi... Plus de résultatsll be presented at various conferences (in person and virtually depending on the global situation) such as Round Up, Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada, and possibly at Yellowknife Geoscience Forum. Plain language summaries of the proposal will be communicated to nearby communities and band councils upon completion of the research. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from September 17, 2021 to December 31, 2021. Afficher moins
