Objectif(s): To identify for closures sites with no unacceptable risks and to develop an action plan for additional work for any sites that cannot be closed.
Description du projet: The objective of this project is to identify for closures sites with no unacceptable risks and to develop an action plan for additional work for any sites that cannot be closed. Twenty-two sites will be visited to collect soil, surface water (where available) and vegetation samples to determine levels of previously identified contaminants of concern. The work plan for each site involves soil, surface water and vegetation sample collection within 10 meters of the navigational aids (approximately 25 total samples per site), along with visual observations of site features and types of flora and fauna observed in the area. All samples will be collected by hand and the overall impact to the ground at each site is expected to be less than 1-2 metres. Any cultural resources or animal habitats identified in the proximity of the navigational aid sites will be avoided. The soil samples being collected will be shallow (approximately 30 cm depth), any ground vegetation in the sample area will be lifted prior to sampling and replaced after sample collection is complete. The results of the study will be communicated by the client - Public Services and Procurement Canada - to the various communities and boards, as required. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from August 16, 2018 to August 29, 2018.
