Understanding the names is important especially for young people, as part of learning about their identity. In some cases, follow-up interviews will be conducted, based on the first interview. In these cases, the interviews will follow the same procedure. A research assistant will be used to help with interviewing elders on their family names. A document will be prepared describing family last names, and will be given to the families involved in the research as well as to the Tlicho government and to schools in Tlicho territory. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from September 11, 2014 to December 15, 2014.
