Objectif(s): The objective of this research is to measure iodine in the muscles of fish and in their substrate water.
Description du projet: This licence is issued for the scientific research application #916. The objective of this research is to measure iodine in the muscles of fish and in their substrate water. The researcher is limited to angling fish for the study within the restrictions of the researcher’s angling licence on Mackay Lake. The researcher will also be completing water samples. They will be limited to no more than 2 liters of water cumulatively from the Great Slave Lake and Mackay Lake. This research expedition has been organized through both a local airplane charter and a fishing lodge on Mackay Lake. Results of this study will inform a larger fish survey that will be available through the researcher by request. The fieldwork for this study will be conducted from August 22 to August 28, 2008 in MacKay Lake and one water sample (less than 1 liter) from Great Slave Lake.
