Objectif(s): It is becoming increasingly apparent that the Arctic is warming and that this warming has resulted in changes in sea ice patterns of formation, decay, and distribution which operate much differently in the eastern than the western Canadian Arctic. Building on the CASES (western Arctic) and NOW (eastern Arctic) programs, the objective of this ArcticNet Theme 1 research project is to start long-term marine observatories of the ocean-sea-ice-atmosphere coupling in the context of climate change in the Canadian Arctic. Six instrument moorings will be redeployed in the same locations as they were under CASES.
