Objectif(s): A two-year collaborative study (2001-2002) between the Geological Survey of Canada - Calgary and CS Lord Northern Geoscience Centre in the southern NWT is commencing its second year. The purpose of the project is to develop a stronger understanding of ancient hydrothermal fluid flow regimes (indicated by the formation of hydrothermal dolomite) and the subsequent concentrations of lead and zinc in the southern NWT. The objectives of this study are to be accomplished by the examination of the structure, stratigraphy, and geochemical signatures of known lead-zinc deposits, as well as areas that show extensive hydrothermal dolomitization.
