Objectif(s): Will investigate institutions and mechanisms that allow aboriginal participation in wildlife and park management policy-making in Ivvavik & Aulavik National Parks in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. Examine the relationship between the Inuvialuit resource users and the Canadian Parks Service. Focus on co-management boards in the ISR. Do these boards serve interests of all members? How equitable is cooperation? How much participation is CPS willing to accommodate. What role do the Inuvialuit have/want? What are the conflicts that exist in the cooperative relationship? What changes would the interested parties like to see?

Description du projet: Assess the processes by which the mandates of cooperative wildlife management in the national parks are achieved in the Inuvialuit Settlement region. Examine the relationships and attitudes of the responsible organizations in order to reach a qualitative assessment of the operational side of wildlife management in the region.
