Objectif(s): To obtain an indication of the level and nature of the involvement of aboriginal people in tourism activity in the NWT; to identify the impacts and issues associated with this involvement; to establish good working relationships with NWT residents involved in tourism.

Description du projet: The purpose of this study is to explore the involvement of aboriginal people in Canada's northern tourism economy along with the impacts and issues associated with this involvement. Interviews with the NWT Department of Economic Development and Tourism, various tourism associations, individual tourism operators and aboriginal organizations will be conducted. The study will focus on the socio-cultural, environmental and economic (business) aspects of tourism.
