Objectif(s): To investigate the chemical contamination and impacts associated with the construction and startup of the Canol Pipeline.

Description du projet: The Environmental Sciences Group has been requested by Indian and Northern Affairs to conduct an environmental study of the Canol Pipeline. The study will identify contaminants (especially hydrocarbons) along the Canol Trail associated with the construction and startup of the pipeline. Where spills are evident, data will be collected on soils, water, vegetation and stream invertebrates to determine the extent of contamination uptake by the environment.
