Objectif(s): To conduct an analysis of the Archean and Proterozoic basin by traditional foot and boat traverse mapping; to collect water, moss and lichens for contaminant analyses (including heavy metals, organochlorines and radionuclides).

Description du projet: A field crew of four people will map (by foot and boat) the rocks deposited in ancient (2,500 to 1,900 million year old) basins. These rocks will also be assessed for their economic potential. The field work will also involve the collection of water, moss and lichen to determine levels of contaminants as part of the northern contaminants study funded by the Arctic Environmental Strategy.
