Objectif(s): To determine the habitat and timing of emergence of mosquitoes of the Yellowknife area; to determine the location(s) of environmentally sensitive areas.

Description du projet: The mosquito baseline study is aimed at determining which mosquito species breed in and around Yellowknife. While sampling for mosquito larvae, samples of non-target (i.e., other) insect species will also be taken to determine which of these species are natural predators or parasites of mosquitoes, or should be protected for other reasons. The City of Yellowknife will be provided with recommendations on alternative mosquito management methods.
