Objectif(s): To document the parasitoid complex of Gynaephora groenlandica and G. rossii at Alexandra Fiord; to determine the life cycles of the parasitoids as well as their impacts on the populations of woolly-bear caterpillars; to investigate the relationship between cold tolerance of the host caterpillars and the overwinter survival of the associated parasitoids.

Description du projet: In order to study parasitoids of woolly-bear caterpillars, surveys will be conducted to assess the population of caterpillars, caterpillars will be dissected to collect immature parasitoids and as information about the parasitoids' life cycle as they develop within the caterpillars, and caterpillars will be collected to watch the development of the parasitoids within living `hosts' and to carry out physiological studies in a laboratory.
