Objectif(s): To measure stem diameters and heights of individual trees; to estimate the number of stems per hectare; to monitor growth of individual trees in marked and flagged stands; to estimate foliage weight and its vertical distribution; to measure light conditions in various stands; to take increment cores to be analyzed and compared with stem cores from other parts of the northern hemisphere for possibility of accelerated growth due to global warming.

Description du projet: The researcher and his team will estimate the number of trees and monitor individual growth in flagged and tagged stands, as well as estimating foliage weight of individual trees. They will measure light conditions in various jack pine stands, as well as collect stem cores to be analyzed and compared with stem cores from other parts of the northern hemisphere for the possibility of accelerated growth due to global warming.
