Objectif(s): to investigate vegetation recovery after human disturbance, and to ascertain "normal" sequences of recovery; to compare the effects of different types of low intensity, large area impact upon Arctic vegetation in the one bioclimatic zone; to review artificial means of speeding vegetation recovery
Description du projet: Bruce Forbes is looking at how quickly plants are invading the old settlement of Clyde River where the ground was cleared for buildings and roads. This site will be compared to undisturbed ground and similar disburbances at other human occupancy sites within the High Arctic.
